Cologne. – In September 2013 the hotel voucher agency ANIMOD will be celebrating its twelfth anniversary. With approximately 800 partner hotels in a current 26 countries ANIMOD GmbH is at present a leading provider of hotel vouchers within the German-speaking area and last year alone arranged more than 135,000 vouchers. The online-based company enables customers to take advantage of hotel offers – particularly in the four-star and five-star category – at reduced prices in Germany, Europe and the USA.
“I began by offering private goods on eBay via ANIMOD”, states Ira Hielscher, the founder and manager of the company. “However, as long ago as 2002 we began to specialise in providing hotel vouchers and have been able to grow our company successfully ever since”. Thanks to the establishment of a constantly growing German and international sales network with a large number of cooperation partners ANIMOD GmbH now employs around 60 people worldwide and last year generated turnover of EUR16 million. Every day approx. 7,500 customers access the hotel voucher specialist’s online shop at www.animod.de.
Apart from Germany and Europe ANIMOD has, since 2011, been providing its services on the US market through two subsidiaries. The focal point here is expanding the company’s network by operations such as the acquisition of new hotels and sales partners. In addition the Cologne company has, since 2010, also been offering hotel vouchers for resale. Resellers can acquire hotel vouchers from ANIMOD on special terms and then market these through their own sales channels. In addition the company is constantly expanding its portfolio of destinations and has recently been able to add the major cities of Istanbul, Las Vegas, Lisbon and Amsterdam.
